How it works
In digital infrared photography, you only need an IR filter such as HOYA R72 to shoot infrared photos.
All digital cameras have sensors that to some extent are sensitive to infrared light.
Wavelengths used for infrared photography range from about 700 nm to about 900 nm.
IR light spectrum is not visible to human eyes.
Infrared photography is also known for its "nude" or "naked" people photos technique which relies on the fact that some fabrics or clothes are transparent in the IR spectrum.

"With its easy to remove IR cutoff filter, this new digital SLR can be quickly and easily transformed into an infrared capture device," Jack Howard says on popphoto.com.
The IR filter is very easy to remove on the SD14. This manufacturing choice awesome as it makes the SD14 one of the few, if not only, hot-swappable IR/visible spectrum SLRs available.
